Billabong High International School, Mulund is envisioned as a School of Innovation, where education transcends conventional boundaries to ignite a passion for creativity, critical thinking, and purposeful problem-solving. At its core, the school is a dynamic learning lab that fosters experimentation, empathy, and entrepreneurial thinking, preparing learners to thrive in an ever-evolving global landscape.
Rooted in a culture of curiosity, the school nurtures an environment where failure is embraced as a catalyst for learning and resilience, and where each question is seen as a doorway to deeper understanding. Learners are empowered to think like designers, inquire like scientists, and communicate like global citizens, continually applying their knowledge in meaningful, real-world contexts. Through its key pillars—Inquiry-Based Learning, Socratic Dialogue, Field-Based Learning, Maker Programs, Design Thinking, and the Cambridge Learner Profile—the school instills in every student the confidence and capability to become a changemaker.
The school cultivates an innovator’s mindset by placing learner agency at the center of the educational experience, where imagination is sparked by challenge, and perseverance leads to impactful solutions. Here, education is not just preparation for life—it is life in motion, driven by purpose and innovation.
At Ignición 2025, we aim to inspire the next generation of innovators!
Ignición Junior is a program for learners of Grades 3 to 5. Younger learners are natural problem-solvers. Through guided exploration, storytelling, play-based inquiry, and real-world connection, Ignición Junior helps them begin their journey as changemakers, encouraging empathy and creative thinking while keeping the experience joyful and meaningful.
The program outlines 4 concept areas: Looking After Planet Earth, Health & Wellbeing, Water Food & Farming and Looking After Our Oceans.
With a combination of guided workshops and explorations on Design Thinking, Ignición Junior culminates into a final one-day event, with the junior teams presenting their solutions to a panel.

Ignición Senior is a dynamic innovation and changemaking program designed for learners in Grades 6 to 12. At this stage, students are ready to dive deeper into complex global challenges and begin designing impactful, real-world solutions. Building on their growing capacity for critical thinking and empathy, Ignición Senior empowers them to become proactive problem-solvers and future leaders.
Through a structured blend of design thinking workshops, inquiry-driven exploration, collaborative challenges, and mentorship, students engage with six key concept areas: Gender Equality & Empowerment, Climate Action & Environment Sustainability, Bridging the Neurodivergence Gap in Schools, Cultural Preservation through Technology, Repurposed Spaces for Learning and Food Equity & Nutrition.
The journey culminates in an inspiring final one-day showcase, where student teams present their solutions to a panel of experts, educators, and changemakers—demonstrating not only their ideas but the critical thinking, collaboration, and empathy that brought them to life.
